Maurizio Zamparini hit back at the Palermo fans complaining about their transfer policy. “I don’t owe them anything.”

The Sicilians lost their opening Serie A game 3-0 on home turf against Napoli and on Sunday travel to on-form Lazio.

“The fans aren’t happy? I don’t owe them anything,” snapped President Zamparini on Mediagol.

“They’d like us to fight for Europe this season, and I believe we can, but first Giuseppe Sannino needs time to get things right.

“I know what those members of the crowd think, but Palermo have 9,200 season ticket holders, basically the same as Siena.

“Sannino’s job is to rebuild the squad, which is why we need patience. When he has the whole team at his disposal, he will make it. Nothing will change if we lose to Lazio…”

Paulo Dybala is finally available after a row with Instituto was resolved and his international transfer provided.
