Parma chief Tommaso Ghirardi is hoping that Raffaele Palladino can finally live up to his potential this season.
After taking a gamble on the likes of Sebastian Giovinco and Fabio Borini in the past, like a punter at All Slots online casino, Ghirardi is expecting Palladino to shine in 2012-13.
“I have an excellent relationship with Palladino and I’ve admired him since his days at Juventus,” Ghirardi noted.
“Unfortunately, he’s not really been able to demonstrate his value, but I hope and I’m optimistic that he will this season.”
Palladino first caught the eye at Juventus, but, despite winning international honours with Italy, his career has stalled after moves to Genoa and then Parma.
With Giovinco now back at Juventus, there is a spot in the side for the attacker to leave his mark on Serie A.
“We ended last season with seven straight wins in the League and there is some curiosity to see how the new team will play,” Ghirardi added.
“We have lost Giovinco, but have added some good players. We got some good money from the sales of Giovinco and Fabio Borini and we re-invested that into some youngsters.
“Pabon, for example, cost us €5m and is one of the best prospects from South America.”
Parma start their campaign with an away game at Juventus in Week 1.
