Catania: 'Rolin too expensive'

Catania have put a sudden stop to talks for Uruguayan defender Alexis Rolin. “He is out of our economic reach.”

The Elefantini had been reportedly on the verge of completing the transfer for €5m from Nacional this weekend.

“Rolin is an important player and a Uruguay international who many much bigger clubs have set their sights on,” explained general manager Sergio Gasparin.

“We do not deny he is a player of great quality, but he is out of our economic reach. It’s very difficult that a player with this price-tag can reach a side like Catania.

“We are looking for a centre-back and someone will be leaving from the attack, definitely one out of Mirco Antenucci and Taka Morimoto.”
