Stefano Colantuono is “not getting too excited” by Atalanta’s Coppa Italia win against Padova.
The Orobici pushed their way into the Fourth Round thanks to a comfortable 2-0 result and will face Cesena in the next phase of the competition.
“I am not getting too excited by this victory, just as I was not downhearted following the friendly defeats in recent weeks,” said the Coach.
“We had a good game and held up the tempo for 90 minutes. I am basically satisfied with the performance.
“Padova are one of the strongest sides in Serie B, but we overcame this obstacle brilliantly.”
Luca Cigarini returned to the Atalanta midfield after an injury.
“Cigarini helped us grow a great deal in terms of our passing and I chose to mirror Padova’s tactics so we’d put them under pressure.
“German Denis is a big lad, so he takes longer to reach peak fitness than the others.”
