Marco Verratti will make his senior Italy debut against England tomorrow and is confident joining PSG won’t hurt his Azzurri chances.

The 19-year-old midfielder was surprisingly on Cesare Prandelli’s long-list for Euro 2012 when he was still in Serie B with Pescara, but joined Paris Saint-Germain for €12m in July.

“It gives great satisfaction to receive a call from the Coach, as not many players get to wear the jersey of their country at my age,” smiled Verratti.

“I will give my all and am certain Prandelli will follow all the players’ progress, whether they are in Italy or abroad.

“Personally I want to do well in every game, as that is the only way I can have a chance with the Azzurri in future too.”
