The Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Mattia Destro and Stephan El Shaarawy could be handed places in attack for Italy tomorrow.

The uncapped duo were named in Cesare Prandelli’s inexperienced squad at the end of last week and will reportedly line up alongside Alessandro Diamanti in a three-man attack. However, it is thought that there could be a third debutant in the forward-line, if the CT opts for Ezequiel Schelotto over Diamanti.

Midfield, it is believed by the Gazzetta dello Sport, will carry experience in the form of Alberto Aquilani, Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Nocerino, whilst so too will the full-back positions with Ignazio Abate and Federico Balzaretti expected to play from kick-off.

Salvatore Sirigu is speculated as wearing the gloves and overseeing a new-look centre-back pairing of Daniele Gastaldello and Angelo Ogbonna.

Prandelli yesterday described Wednesday’s game with England as an important opportunity to assess the younger players at his disposal. There are 12 uncapped players in his 22-man selection.

Probable XI to face England: Sirigu; Abate, Gastaldello, Ogbonna, Balzaretti; Aquilani, De Rossi, Nocerino; Diamanti, Destro, El Shaarawy
