The Europa League Play-off round draw has taken place today and pits Inter against Vaslui and Lazio against Mura 05.

In a faster draw process, the 62 teams in the pot were already assigned into groups of five seeded or unseeded clubs. Seeded groups were then each paired with unseeded groups. Today’s draw determined which seeded and unseeded teams from each group would then face each other in this Play-off round.
Inter will face Romanian side Vaslui, with the first leg to be played at the Liga I runners-up’s home, whilst Lazio are up against Slovenian outfit Mura 05, with the first leg to be played in Rome.
The Nerazzurri’s opponents Vaslui faced Lazio in last season’s Europa League and held them to two draws in the group stages. Mura 05, meanwhile, have already played three qualifying rounds to get to this stage.
That run includes defeating CSKA Sofia in the Second qualifying round and beating Arsenal Kyiv in the Third qualifying round thanks in part to a 3-0 win awarded in the first leg by UEFA, after the Ukrainians were deemed to have fielded an ineligible player.
The ties will be played on August 23 and August 30. The 31 winners will then enter the group stage draw of the competition, alongside 10 losers from the Champions League Play-off round and seven automatically qualified clubs. This latter group includes last season’s competitions winners Atletico Madrid and Italian representatives Napoli.
