Francesco Guidolin has warned Udinese they need to “make progress fast” after another disappointing friendly setback.

The Friulani were beaten by Atalanta recently, while last night they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Turkish side Antalyaspor.

It’s not reassuring considering the Champions League preliminary round is coming up later this month.

“We made many mistakes and I saw a lot of confusion both in the first and second half,” said Coach Guidolin.

“It can happen in the summer, but this is the time to think that in three weeks we are going to play for something extraordinary.

“We’ve got to make progress fast. There’s no need to panic, but when we met two teams of our level they were two defeats.

“We’re lacking sharpness, but have to forge that unity quickly, because we haven’t got much more time.

“Maicosuel scored a great goal, but he has to participate more in the moves. It’s only normal that it takes time to settle into our way of playing.”
