Juventus were held to a 1-1 friendly draw by Benfica last night, but used the opportunity to begin talks for striker Oscar Cardozo.
The Bianconeri were in Geneva for the match that saw all the action come in the final five minutes.
Cardozo’s header put Benfica in front at the 87th and it was wiped out in stoppages by Milos Krasic tapping in the Untersee cross.
The Paraguayan international hitman impressed Juve directors, although it will be difficult to prise him away from Portugal considering his €60m buy-out clause.
Fenerbahce had a bid for Cardozo turned down earlier this summer.
During the game, Claudio Marchisio went off due to a heavy blow to the back, while Alessandro Matri earned a penalty soon after the restart.
Matri went to take it himself, but fired straight at goalkeeper Artur.
The match was also notable for providing the debut in a Juve jersey of former Manchester United man Paul Pogba.
