Cesare Natali insists he will “earn the faith of the fans on the field” as he begins again as a free agent at Bologna.
The veteran defender’s contract expired in Florence this summer and he opted not to take up the offer of a renewal.
“I immediately accepted Bologna’s proposal and there was not even the need to speak with the President,” said Natali.
“I have enthusiasm, I’m happy and want to put myself at the disposal of the squad straight away.
“I may be 33 years old, but physically I’m in great shape. Last season I played 35 games and on an individual level it was a great campaign.
“Will I be first choice? In the past I was often considered to be an understudy, but then earned my space on the field, so I can do the same here.
“I never thought of starting a season with my spot guaranteed, as I work with determination in order to play.”
