Udinese, Palermo, Chievo, Atalanta, Bologna, Pescara and Cagliari were in action for today’s friendlies.

Pre-season continues with Udinese beating Portosummaga 4-0 thanks to a Luis Muriel brace, Paulo Barreto and new Brazilian signing Maicosuel.

Pescara secured a 5-0 victory over Alto Sangro with Giuseppe Colucci, Emmanuel Cascione, Gianluca Caprari, Chiaretti and Elvis Abbruscato on target.

Cagliari hit four past a Serie D Selection after Mauricio Pinilla, Marco Sau, Joaquin Larrivey and Gabriele Perico found the net.

Atalanta were held to a surprising 0-0 draw by Renate despite fielding Simone Tiribocchi and German Denis upfront.

Chievo needed a Sergio Pellissier penalty to get the better of Lega Pro side Cremonese.

Palermo played two mini-matches in the Merano tournament, seeing off Maia Alta 2-1 with Franco Vazquez and Giulio Migliaccio.

The Sicilians then defeated Sud Tirol 2-0 thanks to new signings Franco Brienza and Paulo Dybala.

Bologna played a game between ranks, the ‘blue’ side beating the ‘white’ group 2-1. Cristian Pasquato, Andrea Pisanu and Marco Motta were on target.

Elsewhere, Lazio surprisingly lost 1-0 to fellow Serie A outfit Siena.

This evening Roma play Liverpool in Boston, kick-off 23.30 UK time.
