Mattia Destro could make his move to Roma after all, as Siena are trying to convince the player to accept personal terms.

The striker is co-owned by Siena and Genoa, who had agreed to sell him to the Giallorossi for around €7m.

However, Destro failed to agree personal terms with Roma, prompting a furious response from Genoa President Enrico Preziosi, who said he was “nauseated” by the affair.

The entire deal appeared to have collapsed, but there are now reports that Siena director of sport Luca Antonelli is personally negotiating with the Under-21 international.

Destro is currently in pre-season training with Siena and the Tuscans are said to be getting through to him.

Genoa have warned either he accepts the transfer to Roma or will remain at Siena on his current contract of €400,000 per season.
