Paulo Dybala and Franco Brienza have expressed their joy at completing transfers to Palermo. “This is an important club.”

The Sicilians officially signed 18-year-old Argentine Dybala from Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba.

“I thank the staff and my teammates who have always been close to me and the fans who never lacked in their support,” wrote Dybala on his Twitter account.

“I hope to return one day to the club that allowed me to have this great opportunity. I must prove my worth here, as Palermo is an important club.”

The Rosanero also presented Brienza to the media after he made the move from Siena along with Coach Giuseppe Sannino.

“In the last few weeks I have been replaying the film of my time at Palermo in my mind,” said the midfielder in his third stint at the Stadio Barbera.

“I really hoped to come back here and as soon as the opportunity arose, I didn’t think twice. The moment I step back on to the field at the Barbera will certainly be a strong emotion. I can’t wait.”

Brienza had already worn the Palermo jersey from 2000-02 and 2004-08.

“The bond that ties me to these colours and the chance to play for a side of this level were crucial factors in my decision.

“Sannino changed some aspects of my mentality and the way I play, as I now work more to serve the team.”
