Torino have confirmed that they signed Mario Alberto Santana from Napoli at the specific request of their Coach.
“The Argentine was the first player that we were asked to sign by Giampiero Ventura,” Toro President Urbano Cairo noted.
“He is an individual who can play out wide and therefore he will be of use to us.”
Ventura uses an attacking 4-4-2 system that often morphs into a 4-2-4.
The winger has joined the Granata on loan and the club also have the option to sign him outright next summer.
Santana, 30, joined Napoli last July on a Bosman free transfer from Fiorentina, but left for a six-month loan spell at Cesena in January after appearing in just 11 games for the Azzurri.
The Argentine has also featured for Venezia, Palermo and Chievo in his career.
