“In all honesty, not much went through my mind. I just thought I’d score and then go to see Gigi (Buffon), who told me to hit it fairly wide.”
The Bologna midfielder came off the bench to replace a tired Antonio Cassano and proved crucial.
“We have to be ready for whenever the Coach calls us, as we are all important.
“It was a great performance from the first to the last minute, a battle that we controlled from the start.”
