Udinese have confirmed Luis Muriel will play at the Friuli next season, but Juan Cuadrado could be loaned out again.

Both players spent this term at Lecce and were unable to prevent the club’s relegation to Serie B despite impressive performances.

“Muriel and Cuadrado will return to Udine,” director of sport Fabrizio Larini told Radio Crc.

“Muriel will certainly remain for a few seasons, as he is very young and it’s unthinkable to sell him straight away.

“As for Cuadrado, however, we will evaluate whether or not the player will be part of our squad.

“We still have to recover after a long campaign. This year we started with the Champions League preliminary round and will soon begin mapping out the new season.

“Udinese have many talented players who are under contract with us, but wanted by other clubs. We have not yet planned our transfer strategy, so there is nothing certain yet.

“Situations are evolving over time and we will analyse all the options.”
