Domenico Di Carlo insists Chievo will do their duty against relegation battlers Lecce, but he won’t discuss his contract renewal.

“It is pleasing the fans want me to stay, as it means they appreciate all the work I’ve done here this season and the fact we achieved our aims,” said the Coach.

“I said the squad could improve with many foreign players who had to settle in and get to know Italian football better. That is what happened, as Michael Bradley, Cruzado, Boukary Drame and Kamil Vacek had a great end to the campaign.

“If I was to stay, then I would try to repay the supporters for their affection. We can surprise people again and do something even better.

“The President and I already agreed to discuss things after the final game, so next week we’ll talk it over. Then we’ll see.”

Chievo still have a key role to play, as if they avoid defeat today then Lecce will be relegated into Serie B.

“Of course Lecce are coming here with real hunger and the desire to conquer Serie A safety, but we are still here and can play our game. If they are better on the day and get the win, then we will compliment them, but first we must do everything we can to reach the target of 49 points.”
