Senad Lulic concedes Lazio are likely to miss out on Champions League qualification this term, but insists Europa League football would still be a strong alternative.

The Aquile go into the final weekend of the League season two points and a place behind Udinese, who occupy the final Champions League qualification place.

Welcoming Inter to Rome and knowing that the Zebrette only need a point away to Catania to make certain of the spot, Lazio are up against it to pull back third place, admits Lulic.

“Our goal from the beginning of the season was to reach a European competition,” defended the player to La Repubblica.

“With Inter we will do our all to achieve this, it is a game to decide if we are in or out.

“There is some regret for the Champions League, because I don’t think that Udinese will squander such an advantage on the final day.

“However it turns out, Lazio must be content with what has been achieved so far.”
