Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that boss Bortolo Mutti is unlikely to be handed a new contract.

The latter was appointed on a short-term deal in December when he stepped in for the axed Devis Mangia.

“It would be very difficult for him to remain,” Zamparini stated. “We still haven’t made a decision, but recent results suggest that we need a change.

“We are safe from relegation, but our campaign has been horrible. We’ve collected just two points from our last three games, while Parma have won five in a row.

“On a technical level, we are much better than Parma…”

The Rosanero are 16th in the table with two games left.

Palermo have been heavily linked with Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino for next season.
