Edinson Cavani has urged his Napoli side to remain united in order to keep their Champions League dream alive.

The Azzurri moved three points clear in third with a win against Palermo on Tuesday, but the rest of Serie A will play this evening.

“We wanted and needed this win,” he said to Radio Marte after scoring in the 2-0 victory against his former employers.  “We’re happy.

“We have to continue like this in our next two games and we are certainly not lacking motivation.”

The Stadio San Paolo outfit triumphed last night despite Ezequiel Lavezzi starting the game on the bench for the second tie running.

“There is no problem with Lavezzi,” the Uruguayan continued. “The Coach made his decision and he was proved right.

“We all have to stay together and compact in order to reach the Champions League again.”

Napoli, who were knocked out of the last 16 of the European Cup this term, have games against Bologna and Siena left to play.

Inter, Lazio and Udinese could all draw level again with the Azzurri should they collect victories this evening.
