Milan director Ariedo Braida has confirmed “we are interested in” Genoa defender Andreas Granqvist, who they’ll face tomorrow.

The Swede is an option to refresh the Rossoneri back line, as Alessandro Nesta, Mario Yepes and Gianluca Zambrotta are all over 35.

“It’s true, I tracked Granqvist many times and we are interested in the player,” Braida told Swedish newspaper Expressen.

“He is an excellent player and seems like a good lad. Is it true we will try to sign him this summer? It doesn’t seem fair to talk about these issues now, especially as we are facing Genoa tomorrow, so it wouldn’t be professional to discuss their players.

“Now we will concentrate only on the game.”
