The Nerazzurri have long been one of those clubs linked with the right-sided midfielder, who is currently recovering from knee ligament damage. On Thursday they seemingly confirmed through their sporting director the intention to make a move from him at the end of the season.
“Mauricio Isla is a very interesting talented plaer who has played for years at the highest level of the Italian League,” Chilean newspaper La Tercera report Marco Branca as saying.
“He is one of our goals for next season, but we have not yet entered formal negotiations with Udinese for his transfer.”
La Tercera also suggest that Branca offered €13m for Isla last summer but was turned away and that to have success this year, he would need to raise that to €15m.
